ATLANTA, GA, AUGUST 1, 2014 -- Cogent Growth Partners, LLC (Cogent), the buy-side M&A advisory firm specializing in information technology (IT) services industry mergers and acquisitions, announced today that Scott LeRoy has joined the firm as its Director of Business Development.

Mr. LeRoy has nearly 25 years of experience inside a variety of SMB companies, with roles ranging from management of marketing, sales and purchasing, to business consulting, client management, finance and operations, including stints as chief operating officer and chief financial officer of a few firms. Specific to the IT services world, his background consists of 11 years in the industry, beginning as the marketing and purchasing director for a computer technology retail chain, moving on to become chief client officer at a technology consulting firm, and then a partner in a progressive managed services and IT consulting company.
“My diverse background in the MSP/IT Services space, along with firsthand, personal knowledge of my own experience as a seller of an IT company, has provided me with a breadth of skills that fit very well with the Cogent service philosophy and should allow me to become an asset to all of our buy-side clients and the myriad of candidate companies we work with,” said Mr. LeRoy.
Mr. LeRoy has been a featured and guest speaker at various events for topics including small business management, innovation and entrepreneurship. He actively serves on the board of several not for profits as well. Mr. LeRoy holds a B.A. in Liberal Studies/Business/Marketing from Chapman University in LA and an M.B.A. from The Citadel Graduate School. He lives in Charleston, SC with his wife and three children.
