NEW YORK, NY, March 26, 2013 -- Cogent Growth Partners, LLC (Cogent) announced today that they advised Agio, an industry recognized leader in providing IT managed services for alternative investment
managers, on its recently announced acquisition of Secure Enterprise Solutions, a provider of information security services. This acquisition provides Agio with the platform for delivering security related risk assessments, consulting, products and programs demanded by both regulators and clients in the institutional investor industry. Secure Enterprise Computing co-founders Randall Bennett and Chris Harper will
remain with Agio as Managing Directors.
In making the announcement, Bart R. McDonough, Founder and CEO of Agio said, “We are seeing a dramatic increase in the number of high profile data security breaches, and a corresponding increase of concern on the part of our clients. Add to this the growing demands of regulators and institutional investors, and the need for enhancing security becomes paramount. Acquiring the tremendous capabilities and staff at Secure Enterprise Computing enables Agio to enhance the security of our current services and improve responsiveness to our clients – reinforcing our proactive, rather than reactive, approach to service.”
Additionally, Randall Bennett added, “We are beyond excited at becoming an integral part of such a dynamic organization. The ability to now offer our clients fully-integrated security solutions across the broad spectrum of Agio services is a real game-changer; especially as the diversity and intensity of security challenges grow and clients seek integrated, single-point-of-contact providers. Agio is now clearly the provider of choice for those clients, and we are thrilled to be a part of the team.”
“Building a new service platform from the ground up fast enough to keep up with demand is no easy task,” stated George Sierchio, a Partner at Cogent. “This transaction is a prime example of how finding another entity that already has the know-how and people in place to use as that platform allows for rapid integration and distribution of services, forming a true win for the companies involved and their clients.”
